Most fitness apps track one thing: your workouts. But real health is more complex than how many sets you completed last Tuesday. You can be crushing gym sessions and still running on 5 hours of sleep, drinking one glass of water a day, and eating fast food every third night. Each of those habits either builds or erodes your body's capacity.
The Elite Power Index (EPI) is Elite60's answer to that problem. It is a single composite score — measured in watts, out of 1000W — that captures seven distinct dimensions of your health simultaneously. Think of it less like a fitness tracker metric and more like a real-time operating system health readout for your body.
The watt unit is metaphorical — borrowed from physics to represent output capacity. A higher watt score means your body systems are running at higher efficiency. 0W = system failure. 1000W = theoretical peak human optimization.
How EPI is Calculated
Your EPI score is built from seven weighted components. Each component scores between 0 and its maximum weight. The total is your raw score, which then gets adjusted for any unhealthy eating penalties logged during the week. That final number is your EPI.
The Seven Components in Detail
| Component | Max Score | What drives it |
|---|---|---|
| Physical Activity | 250W | Workout sessions completed in the last 7 days |
| Sleep & Recovery | 220W | Average nightly sleep hours logged (target: 8h) |
| Cardiovascular | 180W | Athletics sessions (run, swim, cycle) last 7 days |
| Body Composition | 120W | BMI proximity to healthy range (18.5–25) |
| Nutrition Quality | 100W | Ratio of clean days to total days this week |
| Consistency | 80W | Current training streak length |
| Hydration | 50W | Average daily water glasses logged (target: 8) |
If you have not yet logged sleep or water for this week, those components default to 50% of their maximum score. This encourages logging without punishing new users — but you will leave a significant amount of watts on the table until you build the habit.
The EPI Score Bands
Your raw score falls into one of six bands. Each band represents a qualitatively different state of health optimization — not just a number, but a description of where you are in your fitness journey.
The Unhealthy Eating Tracker
The most psychologically interesting part of EPI is the eating tracker. Most calorie apps create guilt by telling you exactly how many grams of fat were in your burger. EPI takes a different approach: it simply deducts watts from your score and moves on. No lecture. No shame spiral. Just honest signal.
Every time you log an unhealthy eating event — a burger meal, soft drink, late-night binge, alcohol — EPI subtracts a small, calibrated penalty from your score. The penalties are proportional to the real metabolic cost of each choice.
Log Unhealthy Eating
Select what you consumed. This deducts from your EPI.
Why Track What You Eat Instead of Ignoring It?
The problem with ignoring eating habits in a fitness score is that you can game the number. You could complete four workouts, sleep 8 hours, drink 3 litres of water — and still consistently eat in ways that undercut your recovery and body composition goals. Without accounting for that, your EPI would show a deceptively high score.
More importantly, seeing the cost in watts is more motivating than abstract calorie numbers. A -30W penalty for binge eating is a real, visceral signal: that choice cost you training capacity.

Alongside your main EPI score, the app surfaces two sub-indices that help you understand your behavioral patterns around food.
How to Raise Your EPI Score
The AI Coach tab inside Elite60 gives you personalised recommendations every time you open EPI. But the general principles are straightforward:
For Physical Activity (250W)
- Complete at least 4 workout sessions per week — each session adds substantial watts
- Avoid skipping more than two consecutive days — the score uses a 7-day rolling window
- Both gym sessions and athletics sessions count — variety is rewarded
For Sleep & Recovery (220W)
- Log your sleep hours daily using the moon icon on the EPI page — the score cannot calculate without your input
- Aim for 7.5–9 hours per night — the algorithm rewards consistency over single long sleeps
- Sub-6 hour nights drag the average down significantly across the week
For Cardiovascular (180W)
- Add 2–3 cardio sessions per week using the Athletics section (running, cycling, swimming)
- Even a 20-minute run counts as a full session — the system tracks session count, not duration
- This is the fastest component to improve if you are currently at zero
For Nutrition Quality (100W)
- Log unhealthy eating events honestly — avoidance of logging does not help your score
- Each clean day (no events logged) contributes to this component
- A single day of clean eating each week still earns partial credit — perfection is not required
EPI is not designed to make you feel bad about eating a pizza. The penalty system exists so your score is honest, not so you develop anxiety around food. Log it, see the number, and move on. Your EPI recovers as soon as you resume healthy habits — there is no compounding shame, only honest signal.
Why a Single Score Matters
Health optimization has a coordination problem: you can be extremely motivated about one dimension (say, strength training) while unconsciously neglecting three others (sleep, hydration, cardiovascular). Most dashboards show you seven separate charts and leave the synthesis to you.
EPI solves this by forcing the synthesis into one number. When your score is stuck at 550W despite consistent gym sessions, you immediately know something else is dragging it down. Open the breakdown. It will tell you exactly which component is lagging and by how many watts.
The goal is not to obsess over your score. It is to give you a compass — a single number you can check weekly that reflects the holistic truth of how well you are taking care of yourself.
